“Name” Tags

What’s a “name tag”? Is this who you identify as when you put one on?

The other day at work I received an email from my boss reminding all of us to be sure to wear your “name tag” so a patient may be able identify you.

I’m thinking to myself. “Is my name tag my identity?” Do I behave differently with or without this name tag?

The answer is yes. I am a bit of drill sergeant at work. I doubt many of you would stand a chance working with me. I can be a hardcase and a perfectionist who expects a lot out of myself and others who work with me.

Take the name tag off at 4pm and I turn back into plain old Becky, again.

Do we wear name tags when take on the role of Mom/Dad, Brother/Sister, Husband/Wife, and/or Friend/Enemy? How do you behave when wearing one of these name tags.

Something to ponder the next time you put on your “name tag” at work.
