Year of the Fire Horse

“Regulators… Mount up!”

If you haven’t already, be sure to pick out a pony from the herd, saddle her up and ride like the wind! Time for movement! Time for action! Time for purpose! Time for speed!

I was definitely channeling the Fire Horse vibe yesterday after I had gotten home from work.

Before I went home yesterday afternoon, I had to stop by the store and buy a new battery for my car’s key fob and a jug of windshield washer fluid. After replacing the battery in the key fob when I got home, I went out to my ride to make sure the fob was operational once again. Then I popped the hood on the little white pony and proceeded to fill the washer fluid reservoir as she was a tad bit thirsty. While I was doing so, I noticed just how damn dusty and dirty my engine bay appeared. It had been a long time since I had groomed my horse. I went to the garage, grabbed some paper towels, a toothbrush and a handheld blower to help me clean up the bay. Spontaneity is my strong suit. After an hours worth of attention to detail, the bay looked a whole lot better.

I see my car as my trusty steed, my horse. She carries me wherever I want to go. I, in turn, take care of her by providing the right fuel, tires, and regular maintenance that helps keep my steed in tip top shape. I love hitting the road with my faithful steed. She is my partner. She takes me places.

The other horse, I have decided to saddle up, and ride is my rowing machine. My rowing machine is a different kind of steed. I am the power for this horse and boy does this horse like to ride hard. Rowing is a very physical and mental exercise. I am looking forward to seeing where this horse will take me on my weight loss and health journey in the Year of the Fire Horse.
